Pupils are actively encouraged to log their reading for both learning and for pleasure, receiving reward “gems” for their reading logs. As pupils read more, they can use their gems to personalise their Boomer or add to their reward card collection, increasing motivation and engagement. BoomReader encourages children to complete a book review of their finished books, which can be shared with their teacher and class.

Using the free BoomReader app, parents and carers are able to log their children’s reading and provide feedback to their child’s teacher. The app also gives a valuable insight into their child’s reading habits and progress at school.
