Why Teach Touch Typing?

Our exam system is changing!

With exam bodies looking to digitalise exams in the near future, it makes sense to prepare learners.

Teaching pupils to touch type subconsciously frees their conscious mind to concentrate on more essential literacy skills such as planning, composing, processing, proofreading, editing and the exam question in hand.

It promotes confidence, productivity, and the ability to multi-task whilst significantly reducing anxiety, and it equips learners with a modern-day life skill they can carry forward into FE/HE and the workplace.

For learners with SEND, it can be a transformative skill that can significantly transform school and university outcomes.
